Drips of coolant coming out of top of rad

Hi all,

Changed my top rubber radiator pipe for another stock rubber pipe on friday night as it was rather shoddy :)

Anyway, what I've noticed is that there appears to be drips of water coming out of the top of the radiator outlet to the rubber hose top pipe when the car is on idle and it seems to get worse with the engine off.

I've tried tightening the hose up with the clips and pushing it closer to the rad, but the problem still persists.

Any ideas? Is the new pipe probably a bad one? (I did get it 2nd hand :) )

did you clean the inside of the rubber pipe before fitting? also the top outlet of the rad, as it could be crap not letting you get a good seal

Rad is 6 months old - the drips appear to be 'coming back' from the rubber pipe and dropping down onto the top of the radiator under the rad cap if that makes sense... Also, I didnt clean the new pipe...

well it sounds like you have not got a watertight seal, take it off check for any tiny splits, (sometimes you can overtighten the clamp and cause a split) then clean all the areas then re tighten

actually - the grooves within the pipe where the old clamp went on dont match up with where my clamp has been attached to the pipe - could this cause a split?
