styggen82
HI Have a mkiv TT 6 speed. After replacing my stock clutch with an ACT unsprung 6puck, ACT pressure plate and new OEM flywheel, it has started to vibrate when realising it in first and reverse. Also when I shift down you can feel it and see the shifter vibrates. But only when I release the clutch slow.... A so called espert told me that supras have sprung disk and that a unsprung disk will cause this. Or is it the engine mounts that needs to be replaced? Anyone have esperience with this? or same symptons?
bignum
How many steady miles have you done on the new clutch, my centreforce needed about 500 stop/ start miles to feel ok, it still judders abit in 1st and reverse, i put it down to the friction disc being a bit more "bitey". Nic
Sounds normal, it even says as much on their webpage. Solid Hub (6 Pad) Disc Increased torque capacity, Faster shifts, reduced inertia, Very good durability but shortened spline life, Absorbs more heat than 4 pad, Harsh engagement, some chatter http://www.advancedclutch.com/products/clutchkits.aspx?prod_id=2637#2637 Unless you are running a lot more hp than stock, the OEM clutch is the quietest, smoothest and easiest to use. styggen82
okay, thanks for advice guys. I`ve done about 400 km on it so I`ll drive a bit more and see if it get`s better... Power is BPU+. Thank`s again:)
edge
Sounds normal to me. I have rps 6 puck and rps flywheel. It was terrible at first but has settled down nicely. A bit of a bugger in traffic though. Just keep the revs up when pulling away slowly but go gental on it for quite a few miles. You may also notice a rattle from your gearbox when it warms up and a hard clunk when racing through the gears.

I have got a chatter from my gearbox / clutch and i cant locate the where the noise is coming from... Could this be an aftermarket clutch which is causing the chattering?? It gets louder when hot but when i put my foot 3/4 of the way down on the clutch, the chattering stops. Does this sound normal??

SilverSoop
Yeah sounds like it. Did you manage to get any pics? No sorry i didnt in the end mate but mark at phoenix thinks i have a stock dual mass flywheel... Stupid me though, forgot to ask him whether he thought that i had an aftermarket clutch... The only thing which confuses me though, when my Supe went in with the gearbox fault for the very first time, i had no noise from the drivetrain. After it come out, the chattering started and never stopped. They have checked over my gearbox countless times and they claim its fine. Could they have fitted my clutch incorrectly?? Nic
Could they have fitted my clutch incorrectly?? Yes it could have been. Did they fit an OEM clutch? Did they fit a new clutch release bearings? An aftermarket clutch or worn release bearing could be the causing the noise.

Now when i took the Supe back to the dealer's, they took out the clutch and re-installed it when the gearbox came back. Only after that, the rattling/chattering started... Thats why im swaying towards an incorrectly fitted clutch.
