Homer
Is it a straight swap to fit an LSD diff from an auto TT into an NA? I.e. are the prop and driveshafts the same? I'm led to beleive that the NA diffs are the same open type whether they are auto or 5spd manual, can anyone verify that? I know the 6spd is a completely different matter, but am not sure about the auto TT diffs... TIA
Chris Wilson
AFAIK yes, they'll interchange.
Nic
AFAIK yes, they'll interchange. The EPC would suggest they are too.

steve spedd
Ah, ok. Do you know how strong the stock NA diff is? Just wondering if its something i need to look at changing if more power is going through it....
Homer
The diff is a direct drop in, not sure about the donut bit but they will at least bolt up. If anything the auto TT might be stronger, but this is the first I've heard of them being different. You might need the 2nd bush hanger mount and bolt if the NA subframe doesn't have it already. The auto diff is stonger, but will have a big impact on gear ratio's, the gearing will be quite a bit longer with one fitted to an NA. See my gear calculator to get an idea. JamieP
The donuts are different im sure, where the propshaft meets the diff the 3 17mm bolts are spaced differently between the na and tt diff i think, im pretty sure you would have to change the prop although i could be wrong, it has been known:d Edited December 13, 2009 by JamieP (see edit history)
