Guest jzx90drift
let me explain. It is a new import only picked it up Monday just gone. But unfortunately it is not running as the batt was flat, was started at the docks and it run sweet drove it on to a trailer . got home and a mate wanted to hear her running and tried to jump it and i think he reversed the polarity and popped the 120amp fuse. Anyway i replaced the fuse and now she wont start. Done a flash diagnostic and it comes up with code 14 --ignitor or ignitor circuit or ecu. Have been informed by a fellow member that it is the ignitor that has blown, So trying to get 1.It has driven me crazy for the past few days stripping the car checking every fuse and relay i can find ect, before i found out how to run a diagnostic, lol. Any one else had this problem? And if so what was the damage caused?? Thanks for your help in advance
Gaz Walker
Ignitors are not a common fault on Supras/Aristos/Chasers but they can and do go after time, especially if you do things like that Getting one from Toyota will be around £200, you might strike lucky and find one on the owners club etc but it'll be unlikely. You could ask if a member could loan you one to test. Theres a UK forum for these but I can't remember the URL, someone on Driftworks will have posted it somewhere. Gaz. garethr
I had a quick search around the Soarer sites. Code 14 is no ignition reference signal. Could be the ignitor. Also worth checking all the connectors. It's likely that the Soarer part is the same, although I can't check because my EPC crashes when I try to access the JZX90 data. EDIT: The Soarer part number is 89621-22030 igniter assy 9309-9608 The JZX90 has the twin turbo 1JZ-GTE, so it should be easy to find a Soarer ignitor to try. Ask on the UK Soarer forums. There may be an owner near you who can help. http://www.soarerworld.com/forum/index.php http://jkwebdesign.net/lsocbb/ http://soarercentral.com http://alscforum.com http://www.jzx90.co.uk/ http://www.jzx100.com/forum/ http://www.toymods.net Edited June 6, 2008 by garethr (see edit history)

Jay_vr6
check your ecu board buddy, the capacitors are renowned for breaking down and leaking on the ecu board, causes all sorts of odd problems. Check the link below on the problem, may also be worth doing a search on the supramania forums regarding the 1jz ( if you don't run the 1jz then completely forget my post ) http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46755
