taken headlights off for painting help

kool chers pal, got some extra sealant just in case, the way they came a aprt looks like they could be tricky to put back, lenses have come up a treat with autosol, just waiting for primer to set b4 adding the satin black

DONT rush it, i rushed mine and didnt let it heat properly and they are now like two little fish tasks full of water on the front of my car.

 

I fell asleep while mine where in the oven (Hangover) and melted the brackets on the back! Thankfully not too badly so it was an easy fix

I thought there already was a guide on the forum about taking your lights apart?

 

Anyhow, just create a new thread and ask the mods to sticky it in 'faqs and guides' section.

all done, job looks a good one. put a bead of sealant around the join as well when putting it back together. how do i post up a guide??

 

Looking forward to seeing your pics mate as i'll be trying this in next couple of weeks.

no worries il sort a guide out with step by step pics, be aware that the hardest part is getting the lens off

 

very true!

 

it really does feel like something's going to go very wrong with the amount of force required to split them...... but well worth it once they're all done and back on the car!
