supra_si
Hi guys as stated ive taken the lights out, and the looms off the back, do i have to take any thing else off before putting it in the oven for a cpl of mins?
kieren1234
Will be longer than a couple of minutes in the oven mate. I would take all the metal rings off the back as if these get too hot, the screws will melt the thread in the plastic. Prevention is cheaper than the cure with this one. supra_si
aii just noticed lol, yeh its a proper pain in the arse all this mastic theyve used, i feel like i may break something trying to get the screw driver in between the 2 pieces its back in the oven again
kieren1234
DONT rush it, i rushed mine and didnt let it heat properly and they are now like two little fish tasks full of water on the front of my car. I have a replacement set on the way to get them done properly.

spuduk99
DONT rush it, i rushed mine and didnt let it heat properly and they are now like two little fish tasks full of water on the front of my car. I fell asleep while mine where in the oven (Hangover) and melted the brackets on the back! Thankfully not too badly so it was an easy fix
Angarak
I thought there already was a guide on the forum about taking your lights apart? Anyhow, just create a new thread and ask the mods to sticky it in 'faqs and guides' section. EDIT: Here it is - though it doesnt have pics http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=40207&highlight=cleaning+headlight+lenses Edited June 5, 2008 by Angarak (see edit history)

Guest Angry Koala
no worries il sort a guide out with step by step pics, be aware that the hardest part is getting the lens off very true! it really does feel like something's going to go very wrong with the amount of force required to split them...... but well worth it once they're all done and back on the car!
