Green Peace
I was just thinking (dangerous I know) Would'nt it be excellent if somebody started an Internet radio station for Jap car owners or Supras.... Would be even better if it was available on DAB but thats bit too ambitious I guess. How easy would it be to set up? We could all take it in turns to run it....and have it running in the background when we click on Mkivsupra.net. If it was a general Jap car thing it could run on every Jap car site...or just a Supra one....or is this a daft idea and would it be too expensive to get clearences etc...??? Maybe even get a short term low power community licence to broadcast on FM at certain meets like TOTB etc!
terribleturner
I quite like this idea, but what would you fill the time with?? What sort of scedule say over a day or couple of hours??

I guess to start with it would have to be over a couple of hours or so and then looped, unless a few of us got together and did three maybe regional broadcasts say North, South and West n Wales...could also have Midlands and scotland i suppose too. Could be a way of bringing the most relevent and interesting topics on supras into the spotlight and round up of forthcoming events, new discoveries reviews of peoples cars that we could interact with possibly with a specially set multi-media section, that we can click on simultaniously bit like scratch n sniff he he. For insatance someone could do a little feature on the girlies meets so we can find up what they got up to and we can click on the pics too whilst that slots on....shall I copyright this idea lol! But my creative juices arnt flowing well this morning...though i do like the idea for a 'all hands to the helm' style where we all put our own ideas and suggestions...Im not an IT person so I'm not sure what this would entail... Any Ideas Mr Turner or anyone?
terribleturner
I think it sounds really good Simon. Maybe you could start off the idea of recording a file that we can play in the background as we browse the site?? Im loving the scratch and sniff thing And if needed you could sell advertising space to the traders. Thus getting funds if needed and the traders get to send subliminal messages. i'll have a think while i sit here at work.

Cool mate...you work in broadcasting I know so your input would be greatly appreciated...I dont want to be the ships captain but would love to be a part of it...but happy to try put something together as a trial (as a joint effort)...I'm wondering about music wether it would be a good idea to have some kind of soft ambient music in the background ...not too intrusive maybe a few magic FM style tracks to pasify the the older ones amognst us Grand theft Auto Vice city style? or should we just pump it up he he. I see it as a community based thing maybe we could entice a few sponsers as you say to help keep things running in return for a few ads, features or plugs, theres also a lot of good DJ's on here who I'm sure would love to spin a few discs...i think Paul E should have his own show aka Tony Blackburn he he (soz Paul love ya really) keep coming up with da ideas this morning...we are on a roll now. terribleturner
i think Paul E should have his own show aka Tony Blackburn he he (soz Paul love ya really) LOL, brillinat. OK, here's a few things that can go into the show, but it's really hard to get enough to fill an hour let alone 2 of them or even a whole day. And i also found this. Which seems very useful. 1. News Car world (New cars and info from the manufactures ) Products (Hard to keep it Supra oriantated but things like "APS's new TT conversion for the 350z" etc...) Sport (We can do updates on say F1, Rally, Touring etc...) 2. Music A Variety of drive tunes, old and new, Maybe get people to email in their top 5 of the week or so and the best get played. 3. Gatherings and Events Upcoming days with all neccasary info. Past events. 4. Tele Maybe a quick guide to television highlights (e.g. TOTB on Men and Motors this Sunday at 17:00) 5. Phone in section We ask a question and then people leave a message on an answer phone. Things like "tell us your views on...." or something similar. It then can all be tied in with traders advertising themselves and any new products or info that they want people to know about. Of course it doesnt have to be in this order and it'll be looped so at the end of the day it wont matter. The music can be played through out the broadcast to keep people ticking over, so to speak. we could also put all the info into a section on the forum. This could be usefull with photos fo the events and any other info people may need again. Anything i've missed that anyone feels we could use to bulk it out a little?? Oooh, what about MKIVSUPRA.NET thread or comment of the week??
