Can i fit uk tubbies??

Hey guys ive just seen and will poss buy a good condition pair uk uk tubbies off my mates uk spec, with the intention of sticking them on my J-spec :taped:. What did i need to change or replace for this work!!?? any advice would mega aprreciated!! :D

 

only if you change/get UK manifold & 1st cat/de-cat pipe :)

wana run more boost and decat without restrictor ring, i wana see how close i can get to 500bhp with hybrids/uk's its almost been done in the US and the but guna see what i can do with mine cnt afford to go big single just yet :( but yeah guna need FMIC, Cams,ECU,bigger injectors,Alcohol injection system,fluidyne rad,hardpipe kit....hopefully that should be on its way. A guys on t04R.com got 487 at the wheels on stocks so we'l see. Obviously i dont wana blow the thing up.

with hybrids you will NOT get 487 at the wheels! i should know, I have hybrids al the supporting kit. Ameicans always over read bhp figures. Maybe 460 at the fly at a push

Around 450-480 should be possible if you are willing to expect that your UK stock/hybrid turbos, engine etc could blow at any point but thats tunning for you. A good place to start is JohnA's website maxboost his garage it is a very interesting read if you are serious about tunning :) Reading a few of his posts it seems that he is using Meth from 0.9bar onwards for in-cylinder cooling and improve the octane rating which allow him to run higher boost i.e. 1.4-6bar

Dont forget the jspec runs MAP based not MAF and the stock map sensor only reads upto approx 1.2bar ;)

 

Wouldnt it be easier to get some jspec hybrids :search:

 

What difference does that make? you would still need to add at least a piggyback ECU to get the best out of either, using hybrids.
