Sharpie
Hi, I'm just about to replace the hose from the power steering reservoir to the pump, since my old one needed to be replaced. Does anyone have any tricks or tips ? Once the pipe is on and I have filled up the reservoir, I assume I can leave the cap of the reservoir off while the engine runs so, I can turn the wheels from side to side to get the air out ? or will fluid go everywhere ? Any other advice ? Cheers Pete Oh, I have already read this. http://web.archive.org/web/20041209173121/www.reepa.com/psflush.php
Chris Wilson
Just slowly top it up with the engine idling, then gently go from lock to lock a few times, engine idling and keep topping as required. It will become a red fountain if you rev it a lot and saw at the steering wheel...
Homer
I did as Chris says above, but cut a coke bottle in half, flipped it upside down and stuck it in the top of the PAS reservoir. It stopped the fluid splaching anywhere and still sllowed it to get rid of any air locks.

Sharpie
HI... would you use the same fluid for a manual transmission? Sean I don't think there is any difference in Power Steering fluid, depending on what transmission you have. Check here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=56684&highlight=oil+FAQ And with Oilman too, if you want to cover all bases.
