Jake
Grrrr!!! Going along a road with cars parked both sides. There's a van coming down the road towards me. I pulled over to the left into the gap where there was a side road. As the van continued towards me he indicated right, ie into the road my car was blocking. So I pulled forward as much as I could so that he could get into the road but the driver completely misjudged it and dragged the back half of his driver's side across the rear driver's side corner of my car. The rear bumper came completely off - just what you need when you're 80 miles from home, not. I've got the guy's name, address and phone number. He didn't know the insurance details so I've got to phone him tomorrow for those. For some reason he's not admitting it was his fault. What's the drill now? Do I need one of those claim companies to make sure I get a decent hire car? I'm not really comfortable with driving an m3 with the bumper held on with bungees. Guest dangerousandy
Call accident exchange on 08700116720 and give them all the details. My supra was hit earlier last month and they sorted everything for me, had the supra repaired by a Toyota dealer and supplied me with a Lexus GS300 courtesy car!!!! didnt cost me a penny!! jamesmark
Sorry to hear this Jake. For some reason he's not admitting it was his fault. That is standard mate, the worst thing you can do when you have had an accident is admit liability even if you are at fault. I remember my last insurer had this printed on the credit card size "in the event of an accident" card, you must not admit liability. Jake
Obviously I'm worried that he will pull the usual stunt and somehow decide it was my fault - even though my car was stationary when he drove into it.

edge
Sorry to hear that. If its a company van he wont admit it. We was told by our company never ever ever to admit to any accident our fault or not.

adnanshah247
dont worry honestly, the insurance company will straight away know whos to blame here. how else could that damage have been done if its your fault. they'll see the direction of the damage and know for sure that he ripped it off. relax atleast your insured, your insurance company is legally bound to take care of you even if they act like w*nkers! sad to hear but accidents do happen and its just someting that we gotta all put up with (stupid drivers!) Havard
I would imagine he will twist the story around to it being your fault Jake. I would really play on the fact that you were stationary!! How can it be your fault if you weren't moving!! Good luck. H.
Homer
A nightmare isn't it Jake If you've got the company name, reg plate and supposed name of the driver then you should be all clear. If the driver has provided false details then it's all yours. It the details are correct then it will come down to how must trust you have in your insurance company (for example Sky were 1st class sorting my non-fault claim out) Either way have a chat with Jon and get some industry advice
ivan
Obviously I'm worried that he will pull the usual stunt and somehow decide it was my fault - even though my car was stationary when he drove into it. Don't worry about it Jake. It's very common for the TP to try to blame the innocent party. Insurance companies are well used to it and will make their own judgment based on the facts available. Your photos will go a long way towards your story being the correct one.

Rule number 1 when having any kind of accident is call the cops, the other guy can seem nice and give details to you but when he calms down later and talks to a friend or spouse he realises he can deny everything and not give u a dime! Especially since he knows its a pricey car with pricey repairs
