markus99
bought this to take the scum off the stainless lip on my wheels, on the supe, it works but is painstakingly slow (or else im a lazy fecker!) anyone tried anything similar with a bit more strength to it? JODY T
ide keep using this stuff, anything harder will scratch the lip.. and thats a nono!
bolarbag
What did you rub it on with? I gather using this with a calico mop on a dremel e.t.c would make things quicker
AdzC
Autosol is a very good product. You might also want to try Meguiars NXT metal polish.
keener
Yup, I'll put a vote in for Meguiars NXT metal polish as well. Just bought some and it polished up my exhaust a treat!!
turbonut
Ditto on the Meguires. Also, to keep them looking sweet, get some Rimwax. It will help repell water, brake dust and general muck. Not cheap but worth a try. Just make sure you regularly clean the rims to stop a build up. L
markus99
the dremel sounds like a good idea! i was just using a soft cloth to apply the stuff

kieren1234
Try using a brillo pad first, and then the autosol. I done this on a friends wheel and came like a mirror.

Rob
i think its a very similar compound 2 brasso, smells nearly identical I was using some and it smelt quite odd, and it didn't polish at all. Then I looked at the tube and realised it was Anusol. Christ! Where's the tube of Autosol then? No wonder my piles are still bad.

supra_si
i used autosol on the stainless exhaust with just a cloth, worked wonders, needs a little elbow grease
Dnk
Autosol is great but lots of elbow grease required Brasso on the impregnated cloth is great for a final buffing. The wheel below was prepolished then finished off with Autosol followed by a very similar product to Brasso. NeoMagic
It should come up fairly quickly, are you sure the lip isn’t lacquered?
