csa
I've just installed another fpr, but the AN fittings to the NOS system leaking a bit (maybe a drop every minutte). I can see that there has previously been used a white material as som sort of non seizing gasket. what should I use here?
bolarbag
Teflon? I'd be cautious with different materials it can contaminate the fuel Someone will be along shortly to advise accordingly
SimonB
AN fittings should need no sealing - there is a cone on the male fitting that fits into a cone shaped bit in the female. Unless the female bit is a port (i.e. no cone bit) in which case you need a dowty seal which is a metal washer with a rubber center basically. PTFE won't do the job, that's for NPT tapered threads. csa
when mounting the an fittings to the fpr it's just a straight end, not at cone, that's beeing screwed into the fpr. I just spoke to my local tuner and he uses teflon tape to make a tight seal.
RobSheffield
If its screwing into the Aeromotive FPR base that side of the fittings usually come with a rubber o-ring. JIC flare shouldnt use PTFE as already mentioned as you run a risk of binding up on the PTFE and not on the 37 degree part of the flange. csa
there's no O rings included. what is JIC and PTFE short for?
supradibbs
As Rob says on the aeromotive its a non tapered fitting therefore should be used with a rubber o ring contact joe at phr he supplied me with me complete with the o ring
csa
btw it's not an aeromotive fpr but a Sard
