RedM
I want to add some memory to our main desktop PC. How do I tell what type it has? Nothing comes up at boot time. The BIOS is no help. XP is no use either as the Computer properties thing only says I have 512mb! Can I get this info from XP or do I need to download one of those system diagnostic jobbies? Thanks. Scott
Your bios and bootup should definitely tell you. If the scanner doesn't work have another go. If you get a boot screen when you turn the pc on try Tab or Esc to get rid of it so that you can see the system information. The speed of your ram will be listed under advanced settings, cell menu, overclocking menu or something to do with CPU clocking/timing.
jamesmark
Can you not unplug the memory and have a look at it, should be printed on it. That is if the links do not shed light on it.
