DannyW
Considering replacing my current diesel van with something a bit more pleasent to drive to and from work in. Ive noticed FTO's seem very cheap at the moment but are they any good? I'm particularly interested in the 2.0 V6 version. Anyone have any experience with them? not really bothered about the speed factor as anything will feel like a rocket after driving the van for over a year. Areas of concern would be reliability and economy (to an extent). thanks.

Anyone else have any experience with them?

Anyone else have any experience with them? Yeah, i smoked one in my 106 GTi, they are NOT fast until they get going. Granted my car has a few mods but its not much more than 140bhp

Reliability, is really the main concern. Anyone owned or driven one?

DannyW
considered an MR2? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=139186&highlight=mr2 Ive had 2 already, a UK non turbo that i spent over £20k on including a very expensive turbo engine swap and a white 1995 mr2 turbo. Would buy another non turbo but i could do with a bit more room to be honest.

Supranature
Bigcol has one for sale at the mo. Pm him and ask as to reliability etc.
bigcol
the only reason im selling mine is we dont need two cars, the fto has never let me down, as for speed well, the gpx or auto are like snails compared to the manual, the fuel consumption is surprisingly good i get (well mrs col) 30+ mpg on a good run. The only bit of advice i can give is the mivec engine is the one that gives the problems, ive got the V6 24v 2liter that puts out 180+bhp as standard and is bloody bulletproof. (just b4 i get the sarcastic comments about "well you would say that you are trying to sell one" i am being honest and if you want a test drive just ask:D)
DannyW
probably as much space as an fto imo No rear seats though.

supra_aero
At least you guys have the mitsubishi eclipse. We don't have that (for some reason).
Guest gracie69
my mum has an fto:blink: think that says alot. she's had it it for 4 years, and spent a fortune on it. it hasnt been very reliable. i think the cheapness of them now relates to the fact, they are getting old and most need alot of work on them. nice looking cars though. extremely slow!!!!!!!!
