Muffleman
Been waiting for this one as it's a Codemasters game, and I always enjoyed the TOCA series. Grabbed Race Driver:Grid for the 360 this evening and have now spent probably 3 hours or so on it. Impressions ? Er, reasonable - I think I need to spend more time on it. It's a VERY pretty game, and very varied too, from Pro Tuner (ie chargespeed Supra) to demolition derby to Drift to open wheel racing to touring cars to muscle cars etc etc etc. Problem I have at the moment is the handling of the cars, I'm sure I'll get used to it but I'm finding traction out of corners to be very poor, and have to be very gentle with the loud pedal. One annoyance is that a few times I have worked my way up the leaderboard and then on the last lap I will come round a bend into smoke and T-Bone someone, absolutely blindly and no chance of avoidance. I then find myself with a fooked car and in last place It's cool that the AI cars make mistakes though. So at the moment I'm undecided, I'll be back when I've spent some more time on it Not a Forza beater tho

SupraStar 3000
Why do game designers not pick up on bugs like this. I remember really enjoying GT4 on the playstation2. Was aiming to get gold on all the major events but when it got to the endurance races the only way you could complete some of the tracks was to drive in real time. When activating autopliot and time advanced your car would fly off and get stuck. Also, the AI cars had completely different race stratergy to yours with super long lasting tyres and fuel. Muffleman
You're right though Matt, enjoying the drifting but it's too easy. One round of a drift battle my opponent got about 55k points, I got £3.25m Yet the rest of it seems a bit tough. I've just started on the career races now that I've earnt enough to start my own race team so I'll carry on.
Pabs
I have it, and there are other threads on it on here. TBH, disappointed at the handling of the cars. I expected much better handling. They are far too skittish with no grip on the road - and that's in races, not drifting. I've not done drifting yet, but the rest of the game is hard - especially with damage etc. It is good fun being able to write a car off though, hit other peoples bumpers and stuff left in the road, flip the car and lose doors! Whitesupraboy2
I have now finally got into it, loved demo and was dissapointed by the game. Finally last night i got a good room 12 of us who just wanted to race and not smash each of us off the road. Talking to each other when over taking etc... Best classes are the DBR9's which are lemans GT1 and Corvette vs aston class. Best handling and most realistic i think. Unfortunatly due to the damage people dump their cars on the track and the smoke can ruin your race, but i do like that as i guess if there was that much smoke there would be problems. Its not a true sim, hence you get kids and not experts like in Forza
Muffleman
I have it, and there are other threads on it on here. Dagnammit ! I did a search for Race, Driver and Grid Only found the thread about the demo TBH, disappointed at the handling of the cars. I expected much better handling. They are far too skittish with no grip on the road - and that's in races, not drifting. Pretty much the same for me too, although starting to get into it now. Think I need to step away from the xbox controller for a break
bluecoup
im stuck on rfactor on the pc, you need a good gfx to run it at top setting but it just never gets old, every car you can think of from f1 to rally, i got over 300 cars and 250 tracks at the mo, racing with 36 or more others is something else, no supra mod yet though

Whitesupraboy2
Everytime I have been on Live you have been on that. May buy it, may not. Still enjoying PGR4 anc COD4 at the moment! Not even looked at Forza and GTA4 yet!! H. I know I use to be on Forza all the time. ( racked up 250hrs of online gameplay ) But this game doesnt require the concentration as its cross between PGR4 and Forza. So not full simulation so you can get away with mistakes. Graphics are the best ive seen yet. Im on call this week so stuck in the house so ill be on most of the time.
