Why are you being so negative Rob?

If I'm honest, I not fully convinced myself.

More I think about it the more I'm sure it was just coincidence.

Just wanted to share the story with you. I'm not preaching religion.

Regarding research,

You probably couldn't Rob because I've looked and found nothing,.. but I guess you have friends in the FBI and know EVERYTHING. ;)

Do tell :sly:

Me and my mum used to live in one half of a very old house and my mum used to look after this really old woman. Every night i used to walk through the ajoining door to go and say good night to my mum, When you go through this door it was like going back in time, The whole place was kitted out like a wealthy familys house from the 40s with oil paintings the lot. Anyway, one night i was walking back up the stairs after saying goodnight and looked over at an oil paint of one of the old ladys dead relitives, The bloke in the picture was stood next to it. It wasent he was missing from the picture but just stood there looking at me next to it. I s**t it and pegged it straight to my bedroom. When i was lying in bed, Wishing my mum was in our side of the house as i was not going to be walking back down the stairs to tell he, I felt a hand rest on my leg. (No Ed i didnt have a pervy uncle staying) I just brushed it off and lay there for two hours waiting for mum to come back. True story

Bloody hell mate. Thats Proper nasty.

Did you tell anyone?

Yeah, My mum and just then the whole owners club ;) Mum said she felt weird on the stairs sometimes. Never know, The bloke may have fallen down them and died. It was his eyes that were the most scary part, Proper stairing.

I'm sorry if I'm appearing negative, I'm just trying to get the point across that all mediums are con-men/woman. They combine cold-reading and hot-reading (in your case) to give a performance to a set of people who already or half-believe in ghosts. put that in the spooky context of a ghost walk and you've got an evenings entertainment.

Did you see that guys funny rant on Have I Got News for You the other night?

He was saying that basically if spirits were trying to contact their loved ones through a medium, they'd say "It's me, Dave, I love you, I bought a winning lottery ticket, its in my coat pocket" not "well, my first name begins with D"

I would like to believe in ghosts and such, but without actually seeing one for myself I don't think I'll be 100%. I sometimes get funny feelings, or see things in the corner of my eye, but that's not enough to make a descision on. I was talking with a mate about it, and he reckons that when you see ghosts it's time repeating itself. He gave me a huge explanation of how time is relative or something, and repeats itself... Not sure what I believe, but he is a firm believe in science I beleive, as am I... But I have my 'spiritual' side too...

And whenever I hear of, or experience something 'ghostly', I tear up and go goosebumpy too... Anyone know why we do that??

goose bumps were probably from our monkey days to make our hairs stand on end and so make us appear bigger to the animal that wanted to attack us.

I've had a think about this... tears may be an uncontrolable reflex which makes us cry due to fear? Not sure about hairs standing on end to appear bigger - that kind of thing would relate to addrenaline and the 'fight or flight' descision. Goosebumps usually occur when you're cold, so the hairs stand up to retain heat... may just be another uncontrollable reflex, or chemical reaction...? The brain is a massivly complex organ, so I'm just guessing here.

There's a strong body of evidence to back up evolution.

there is also one to to back up creation theory.

relfex actions are cool. I like the way my heart muscle keeps pumping blood involuntarily around my body when I'm asleep. Also I have another organ that is interesting too, not my brain, I think I just about got the hang of using it properly now.
