SupraStar 3000
I live across from an old steam railway station (working museum) and we received a letter telling us a local group wanted to hold a paranormal investigation as they suspected it was haunted. The station had informed us of this visit as we normally keep an eye on the yard out of hours and didnt want us to be alarmed by torches and activity late at night. So,.. I had forgoten about this until about 2hours ago when I saw a few cars parked outside my house and people walking around looking confused. Turns out the station master hadnt unlocked the gate and his phone was turned off. These people had traveled along way. Lucky for them I had a spare key To cut along story short, I get chatting to them and they invite me to stay and take part in the investigation. Having an intrest in the paranormal myself I stayed for a bit. Must say, they seemed very professional and used all sorts of equipment from nightvision cameras to temperature recorders. In the group they had a medium, a few skeptics, paying guests and a believers (one looked like the old lady from poltergeist). I walk over to the medium chap and tell him I have never heard of ANY ghosts here and I'm surprised they didnt visit the next station along (Loughborough) as that has a well documented ghost. He then goes on to tell me that a physic link has brought him here rather than Loughborough,.... and he's pleased he did as he goes on to describe an old woman standing on the station platform looking at us. He then gives me a very detailed description of where she had come from. To my amazement he guested correct. A woman had killed herself from jumping from the bridge. Her clothing matched the date and location was very near too. thats me knacked tomorrow then as I doubt I'll get much sleep now. NB: sorry for the long post. juanchan
Stuff like that always spooks me out when I first see/hear it, but I'm still a bit skeptical over the whole paranormal thing. Keep us posted if this ghost visits you in the night (just be careful it's not Blackie popping in for his 2am rendez-vous though )
SupraStar 3000
Well,... that gave me the creeps so I left early. I have the groups contact details so I'll ask what else they found out. To be honest, I'm not sure I want to know. As a kid I played in that railway yard all the time until late and always felt uneasy on my own. Rob
Of course, there's no way he's researched all that prior to turning up on-site.

Is it possible that he researched the station and found out the story before? Don't get me wrong, I have heard voices before. Seen auras, and other unexplained things. AJI
when people kill themselves like that there are usually witnesses and newspaper stories etc.... not hard to dig up an old story and re-create the event by desribing it again. sorry, you may have guessed I don't buy into the old ghost and paranormal thing. SupraStar 3000
He might have researched the station but where would you go to find the info? The woman killed herself end of the Victorian Era so the rules out SkyNews and the internet. Also, he knew of a room which i now bricked up. How did he know that? I know what your saying though, its all sounds a bit OTT. I'll keep an open mind. btw: Didnt sleep a wink last night.
SupraStar 3000
I was going to fly my RC helicopter over the station with its nav lights on. Possibily with a sheet hung underneath but like I said, they seemed like nice people and besides, they had nightvision gear.

Seeing or hearing supernatural phenonema can be very disquieting. God is a great instrument to help relieve us of that anxiety.

The Raven
Worse one for me happened when i was about 14, Used to live in a big old victorianhouse scary stuff as it was, one night i was woken by the sound of a girl/women sobbing i didnt worry to much as my older sister had been out clubbing and i thought it was her or one of her mates. In the morning while at breakfast my sister asked me if i was in her room crying ...... this was folllowed by my mum coming in and asking my sister is she had a bad night as she heard it too. Never happened again but i swear it was loud enough to have been in my room the fact the others heard it ment that it had to have moved as thier bedrooms where on different landings. Mind you, I read about the history of Sparta on the internet, and that all happened before SkyNews started too.

SupraStar 3000
Thats it Rob. Now,... can you find anything on a suiside (spl?) or ghost
Rob
Probably could if I tried, but the point I'm making is that you wanted to believe it, to the point where you were almost defending the medium by saying "He might have researched the station but where would you go to find the info? The woman killed herself end of the Victorian Era so the rules out SkyNews and the internet. Also, he knew of a room which i now bricked up. How did he know that?" You knew of the room so why couldn't he? Ghosts are very persuavsive because its like religion, we all want to believe that when we die we don't just "end" and I've got a good example right now...yesterday we had to put one of our 2 dogs down, it's been very sad for the wife and I and just now, literally minutes ago, while sat at the computer I saw him move across the landing out of the corner of my eye like he always used to, I even turned to look but he wasn't there of course. It's all persistence of memory and emotion and ,with mediums, con-artists who play on those things, but like religion sometimes you can't argue with people bacause their feelings are so strong. If someone says that a particular situation happened because their dead father was watching over them and guiding them and maybe they even saw him, they're not just going to change their mind because I say they're making it all up without realising it.
