toyotasupra1980
Not really. If you want to keep your car, then the best option is to fit the TT engine, forget the turbo kit IMO. auto gear box is not the same as in the turbo, but I do an engine swap which will cost £2000, n/a engine taken out and tt engine put in £1000 - £1500 plus labour, then i have to get ecu, front mount intercooler, fuel pump, total maybe over £5000, i get the whifbitz turbo kit which will have all that stuff included and cost £2700 because i am on comission, pay around £1500 - £2000 to have it fitted except for the ecu, but i will get a greddy e-manage, rather go for my option C. carl0s
the superchip was for a toyota celica gt4, but it was moddified and installed into my supra, dont know how, but hyeline performance managed to do it, and the afc neo does help, well it does for me. The Supra's engine is so vastly different to a Celica GT4's engine that it's just not at all possible, unless what you're speaking about is a 8p (eight pence) resistor that's been wired in to make your car run lean, or something totally different altogether as others have said. Sorry buddy but you don't have a "superchipped Supra", and you most certainly wouldn't have a Supra that'd been superchipped with a Celica superchip If it was a TT, then you might have been sold a boost-cut controller/defender, and some mechanical method of increasing boost to go along with that, but for an NA it wouldn't be that. The reason your car doesn't have the 40bhp above stock that you think it should have (which should probably be the title of your question), is just because you're thinking wrong. Those changes you have made will not add anything like 40bhp to an NA Supra.

And you dont need to uprate the fuel pump as the TT and N/A ones are the same edit: i doubt the turbo kit comes with "everything" needed either. you have to take into consideration that the head gasket will need changing as the n/a's compression wont support high boost on a turbo, an ecu and mapping. Could do with more power on warm days but that's all.
jaymdee
I'd have thought you were looking at newarer £10K for a good reliable NA-T set-up once you've factored all the elkectronics, mapping etc - same as for TT's being upgraded to Singles. There may be other stuff aswell, eg brakes, gearbox, diff etc
Guest Angry Koala
ah dude i am not going to argue with you[GRIN][/GRIN], both got different oppinions, you trust this guy nic, i trust my mates at hyeline Ever noticed how hyeline are never associated with the Supra owners clubs m8 - no adverts, no forum presence? As I understand it from asking an awful lot of people with Jap performance machinery in South Wales, they really know their Skylines and I have even been told they are ok with Evo's/Scoobies but they've never once been recommended to me as having any Supra experience or knowledge of the engines or 'boxes. Some of the stuff they've told you seems to back this up. I'm glad there's another Supra owner to join the numbers in South Wales please be aware that taking Hyeline's general Jap performance knowledge as gospel over the many combined years of specific Supra ownership and experience on here could see you not only having an underperforming car now, but having huge problems in the long run when bits they've "modified" from other cars knacker your pride an joy or they try to give you huge power increases that the na auto box and drivetrain won't cope with and leave you with a big bill. RiceRocket
Have you put your Supra on Hyeline's dyno yet? BTW are you paying to be a member cos we're about to lose contact with you!?

Good point. I believe Hyeline can only be trusted as far as just servicing the Supra but they're Skyline specialists mostly (guy there worked for Nissan previously). I only used them for other stuff because I didn't want to travel to England. I'm not brilliant mechanically wise but they charged me an hour per corner in changing suspension (that right....?), and claimed gearbox had to be taken out to fit new clutch/flywheel (right again.....?). Jake
they charged me an hour per corner in changing suspension (that right....?), Doesn't sound wildly unreasonable TBH and claimed gearbox had to be taken out to fit new clutch/flywheel (right again.....?). Yep, that's right. They can't "Superchip" the Supra ECU though - nobody can. If you've paid for a SuperChip you've been ripped off.

What about fueling? Plus the other things that all add up if you want to do the install properly; BOV gaskets, lines, fittings, mapping, heat wrap, welding, etc. etc. Seriously you could keep your NA and buy a TT for what it will cost you to do a 'proper' NA-T install. Dyer864
Hyeline ! ah don't mention those guy's to me, took my prelude vtec down there, said it's lacking power and slightly missing, i'd been driving it around for over a year, "steve" the so called expert took it for a spin and it broke down, funny never done that before, the ignitor switch has gone he later explains, picks the car up with bill for £175.00 , car drove exactly the same as before !! and many more cases of laceing their pockets, i know a guy whose spent over £15,000 with them on a scooby, it's more off the road than on. wouldn't trust them with a corgi car !!
