Paul Whiffin
Does anyone know if the auto open diff crown wheel has a different number of bolt holes than an LSD type crown wheel? We're in the middle of putting an ATS Carbonectic LSD in Ben's car today, all going well until we tried to fit the crown wheel on. We've done loads of TRD ones before and never had a problem like this before! Any ideas? Ta
Paul Whiffin
Just to add Ben's car was an auto and its a facelift car pre VVTi. Its had a 6 speed conversion done without an LSD by the look of it, so I presume its the original diff in there still.
Chris Wilson
Does it sit on the carrier OK, but just the bolt holes don't line up?
Paul Whiffin
The bolt holes dont line up, its not a snug fit on the carrier like it was with the orginal diff nope, very sloppy.
Chris Wilson
There are 2 different CW diameters paul, the new one must be for the bigger manual Tt type carrier and casing. You need to find the bigger casing and carrier assembly. I will try and phone you later re the race cars.
Paul Whiffin
Hi Chris, I think I've worked it out, the car has got a 6 speed diff installed already and the Carbonetic diff is for an auto! Got to find an auto casing/diff now....
