exhaust diameter N/A

Ive been down to my local stainless exhaust place today and ive decided to get my exhaust done stainless from the front cat all the way through. I want the car to be really loud but not stupid. In your opinion whats the best size piping to go for?

They do 2" diameter 2.5" and also 3" piping, also is it best to add a silencer or have the system straight through? What sort of bhp results can I expect from this? im guessing 5bhp at the most?

I decided to have stainless from the manifold to the 2 silencers at the rear and leave them in place for now. I am going back next week for the 2 silencers removing and they are installing stainless right to the back box. Then it will be 2.5" stainless all the way through with nothing in apart from the 1st cat. How loud will this make the car as its still pretty quiet now and also my back box has a 2" bore, should I get a new one with a 2.5" bore or will it not make much difference? Thanks

Well ... not only the diameter of the exhaust gives you a certain loudness (lets call it sound ... that's better :eyebrows:). The straightness (or bends) of the exhaust also influences the sound of the car, as well as the material of the exhaust (stainless steel, titanium, ...)

In terms of power gains, I think they are minimal (approx 5 hp which you will not feel). In case you have a TT Supra, if you really want to add some more power to the car, remove the cats and replace it by a downpipe... tha'll give you approx 30-40 bhp more (on a N/A Supe, don't exactly know what gains to expect... maybee 15-20 bhp)

I have a RMM downpipe which I had to remove when I went for my Single upgrade...if you want it, just tell me.

Never heard of anyone removing the silencers on an N/A but ive heard plenty of people remove the cats.

Remove 1 cat and its very loud. Do a double decat and prepare for going deaf. You are likley to get pulled regulaly by the plod it is so loud, but as ive said, ive never heard of anyone replacing the silencers before. Peop,e usually go for a stainless aftermarket thats made to fit and still contains a silencer.
