SilverSoop
Hi all, remember the thread that i recently put up in the members sections about my back injury and how my company, colleagues, the medical at A.W.E and the HSE seemed to be against me?? Well i literally was phoning around for new jobs and a couple of days after phoning, i got an interview with Colbournes Audi in Basingstoke for customer service... The interview went really well and as i have a BTEC first Diploma in motor sport engineering, customer service experience, first aid trained and also trained in health and safety in the workplace, i waited until earlier today to hear my answer and YES! i got the job Woohoo!!! :D:D:D:D My job will include, dealing with technical issues with Audi's, writing out job cards, booking services, mot's, part's and general customer enquiries with customer's.... The service manager did warn me though that it wont be easy some days and you will need a 'big cold one' when you get home lol I cant wait to start as i think this could be a start of a career with Audi as the company are expanding and the service manager at Colbournes wants me to do well and make my way up through Audi... Unfortunetely, i have to wait for the contract to come through and then hand my notice which is LIKELY to be 4 weeks *sigh*

BTW now I can catch you up in the post count now you're getting back to work (400 to go)

Glad I didn't go to AWE if that's the way they treat people. Its not AWE Andy its the contracting company... My girlfriend's dad works for AWE and he was off for 6 weeks with an injury to his knee and got the same treatment as me! I would strongly recommend for anyone thinking of going to work at AWE to think it over!
SilverSoop
Congrats Sounded like you needed a change of scene. Is it a double bonus of a higher salary or shorter commute? BTW now I can catch you up in the post count now you're getting back to work (400 to go) Its a higher salary, a shorter commute from 13 miles to 7 miles...so i can save more petrol in the process! Also i get a 3k bonus on top of that when i start and there is an opportunity to get a pay rise just as long as i achieve results... Now i have overtaken you RiceRocket, there is no catching me now! Pretty rubbish really. Walked out and joined the merchant. Never looked back. Good on you! If you get an injury, they try to get there first as they think that you are going to claim against them! AWE is an american company and no suprise that AWE is the way it is!! Everyone is out to get each other! I have never known a back-stabbing place like it!! MoD allocated 120 mill for the last year for injury claims. |They hit 100 mill 3 months before the cut off. No win no fee. Repercussions of this side of society will be never ending mate. Eve
Sounds good...one of my Uncles started working for Audi last year and loves it! Still hasn't sorted my R8 test dive though, so if you want to step into the ring.... I'd walk from the current job if I was you.
Homer
Excellent news Shane, happy for you. Is it for Audi itself or a franchise? Audi are a very good company to work for and great potential to move onwards and upwards in the company if you're any good at your job

Glad I didn't go to AWE if that's the way they treat people. I saw an S5 in a traffic jam a while back. Do they make those or was it simply a bodge-job to make it look better than it actually was?
