Guest Alan Waldram
Was just wondering if i should use any sort of bonding when fitting my spoiler? Or should i just go bare back with just bolts?
Dazzi
Just bolts should be ok. If you ever needed to take it off it may take the paint with it.

broomie
i bolted mine on but ran a small bead of clear silcone sealer around it afterwards to stop water collecting underneath it!
Scott
I just fitted mine. After it was painted i ran a ring of silicone round the mounting holes of the spoiler. I made sure it was pretty thick so that it would contact the bodywork and make a seal. Seems to be working a treat. I have also bought some sticky foam strips to go round the outside edge underneath the spoiler to make it seamless and watertight.
MRX
I ran a thick bead round the holes and then ran a black sealant round the outside to make it seamless (as per scotster above), was a complete and utter f^%&^er to get it off when I came to sell it... but it stopped water getting under it and causing rust in the holes. Guest Alan Waldram
Cheers lads very helpful one of my mates suggested shark bond has anyone heard of it or used it? Think i'll stick to bolting it anyway
Scott
Oh, i didn't bond mine to the bodywork. I ran the silicone round the holes of the spoiler, in the same position as they would be on the car, and waited on them to dry before attaching the spoiler. Only thing holding mine onto the car is bolts, if i unbolt the spoiler it comes off very easily
