Hello everyone!

 

I'm helping out a friend with is MK4 Supra TT and we got a problem.

The 1st turbo dosen't seem to boost anything decent. Only after the 4k rpms does the car start to boost like it should and pull hard.

I've read on the FAQ the following:

 

"Problem 4: I can't get any boost on the first turbo, it oscillates around a low boost pressure.

A rare one this, your IACV is stuck open, and every time turbo #1 makes boost it takes pretty much the easiest way out - via the non-spinning 2nd turbo and back out to the air filter. It's like Problem 2 but happens all the time, not just at the transition point."

 

My question is this:

The car after the 4k rpm mark boosts good. Really seems like both turbos are working. Below that, :search: boost is somewhat MIA.... We are going to buy a new IACV monday morning but I would like to know if anything else might cause this problem. Anything else we should check.

How long has he owned the car is it set up in True Twin mode by any chance ??

 

he has the car for some years now but barelly anything has been done to it. It as some problems but nothing that affects mechanics....

What do you mean exacly by the car being set up in True Twin mode? I saw a link to a mod with that name, but I really do not belive the car is like that.... at least he certanly didn't do it! Don't know about the previouse owners...

 

PS: That sounds like runing the Twins in non-sequencial. Is that right?
