Found out last night, my local just down the road from where i live, 2 young lads died in a fatal attack. One of my good mates is critical condition in hospital due to stab wound to his neck, trying to stop it all happening. The lad who did it has been arrested. And this is now all happening on my door step. What is going on with this country??? labour just havent got a clue, and is letting these little s**ts get away with anything. Im only 21, and its getting to the point now that im thinking now quitting my job, leaving my family and friends and moving to australia to carry on mechanics over there and start a new life.

Not sure you can always blame the parents, i've seen kids with crapola parents do good & great parents bringing up rotters, i think if you have kids in a sh**e area you greatly increase the chance of having problem kids.

Capital punishment from what i've read does'nt reduce crimes, i.e. look stateside, but it gets rid of a few choice pieces of sh**e.

You've got to blame the parents and the way they're brought up.

Some parents shouldn't be allowed to have kids.

Agreed.

Capital punishment does not deter people from making rash decisions.. criminals dont stop and think.. hmm maybe I shouldnt knife this guy as I might be hung... its all reaction/instinct at the time of commiting the crime.

You only have to look at the US crime figures to see that it has no effect.

I live in quite a remote area now and I just don't bother going out in the evenings to pubs as there seem to be so many idiots around. I nearly got into a fight at our 'local' a while back as they just didn't like us being there -'are you the posh lot at the end of the lane' was banded around (no we ain't posh).

I was looking to relocate to Canada, been there a few times this year with work. Hopefull though will have the chance to relocate to Geneva next year as a base. Supposed to be a different world in terms of quality of life but not been there as yet.

The country does seem to be getting worse - one of the lads off a prelude forum I visit was run off the road by a 4x4 last week - he went into a ditch and the other car just drove off. Luckily he's fine but his car is sh*gged.

Sorry to hear about your mate, but here in central birmingham this kind of thing has become normal.

2 weeks ago my newsagent got stabbed in his arm/hand and stomach and a few weeks before that witnessed 2 stabbings in the same day! Day or night does not make a difference here.

Country is a right dump in parts and is catching on in other areas.

Believe me if you publicly hang a few car thieves there would be very few cars stolen afterwards!!!

Hanging is too good for some of the scum we have in this country now.Im sure we could dream up some rather poeticly just ways of dealing with them

I totally agree with capital punishment, public floggings etc, i feel criminal behaviour as barbaric, not these punishments, i only have sympathy with victims not criminals.

P.S. Nice avatar.;)

I still think my idea of 15 years in jail with no chance of getting out early and I mean its 100% 15 years with no appeal for carrying a knife and 20+years with no appeal for a knife murder and more for carrying a gun.....people might think twice before slipping that knife in there coats before they leave the house next time. So sorry to hear it was a close mate

Problem is the jails are allready full and we need a quick fix ie a hole in the ground is much cheaper than paying for these scum to live in relative comfort for 15 to 20 years

true, although all the bloody tax we pay and money the govt make should go towards a superjail like the ones they have in the states. I mean its not as if we dont need one is it, the amount of scum bags in this country we would soon fill it

thank you all for the things said. means alot. Just been to the hospital to visit him. And its good news he is stable now. Thank god!! They should bring back the death penalty, if you commit a crime like that, you take your life too. Its all over the news what has happened. If you watch the news tonight etc, keep a ear out about a fatle stabbing in sidcup :(

Why cant we have a floating prison like in faceoff? Build loads of prisons out in the north sea so even if they escape its pointless. Dont know why they never do that, seems not only the cheapest option but also the safest for US
