My Corsa Project

Recommended Posts

I recently got a new job which I am very pleased about, but the only problem is that I lost my company car.

We have this old Corsa that has been sitting around on our drive that used to be my brothers. It needs some SERIOUS TLC and he has given it to me as a runaround to get to work in back.

I have basically taken it on as a little project that I will be able to learn a lot from. I know the way I have done whats in the photos below is a bit cheap but I am just trying to get the car looking a bit better for as little money as possible.

I want to make it look neat and tidy.

What do you think of the before and after photos (2 days possession) and does anyone have any other suggestions.

I am going to do the wing mirrors next and the boot is blue so that needs respraying.

I probably could have polished it with some serious elbow grease, but thought it would turn it into more of a projtect respraying the panels and there were a few huge stone chips.

I am seriously starting to consider getting the proper respraying kit though (less a low bake oven) as I really enjoy respraying. Its really hard to get an even finish with spray cans :(

I was thinking about getting a spraying kit at one point too, i had a friend who used to do a lot of classic car work & side jobs in his garage at his house, but to be honest without a clean room - best case scenario your paintwork my look ok from afar, but will be full of grit and other particles, worst case as happened to me when re-spraying a front wing for one of my cars a great big huge fly will decide to land on it as it's drying!
