carl0s
When I googled it the other day, one chap had got his motor-mountain-bike registered with a number plate and was paying tax etc. He had to prove the motor was below a certain power level or something. Yea i see that, whats the point though, may aswell just buy a motorbike.

JamieP
Problem, i was planning on welding the sproket to the hub but the hub is alloy and the sproket is steel, i am right in thinking thats not possible?
Chris Wilson
Not possible to weld, you need to bolt it or glue it.
JamieP
Sorted, i bolted it. Engine fitted with chain tensioner (im gonna get that welded in place so it wont move) gonna drop it of at the welders now to sort out the downpipe for the exhaust:d
Kranz
Welding would knacker the bearings by the look of it. Edit - Too slow, you've done it BTW that spark plug looks like its in a painful position if you slip forward off the seat
tooquicktostop
Two things spring to mind from the picture Dont fall forward off the saddle Make sure you wear protection on the legs as that thing must get very hot !
Chris Wilson
You ARE going to fit a proper steel chain guard, aren't you? Having 4 arse cheeks or *ollocks cut like a Terry's chocolate orange is so out of date....
caseys
All I can say sir, is that you are a complete mentalist. Having broken arms, jaw and skull on BMX bikes without engines... I shudder to think. I think you need a meatier chain than that on the bike IMHO. I have a motorbike chain on mine just for pedal power. Why on earth are you fitting it to a bike with plastic mag wheels though? Thought you'd want to get a meaty 48-spoke hub on the back at least? Another very vital thing I would have thought would be to get some chain-tensioners (the type that stop the wheel at the back sliding forward) on it? Only £10 from local bike shop... would save grief of slack chain..

JamieP
Exhaust and throttal cable done, petrol tank fitted, just need to go get fuel line and new spark plug lead, as the top of the one i have is busted, i take it any spark plug lead will do? I think the exhaust is going to need some heat wrap:d
