Daston
Hey guys Just went to move the micra yet the engine turned over but didnt fire up. I had to crank it and pump the throttal to get her to fire. She sounded really rough but after a few seconds sounded fine. She starts first time now although there is a slight squeeking noise. Any ideas would be good

n boost
Check the points/distributer cap as these are common problems on micra. Try cleaning them and see if it makes a difference.
RICHARDA
My Mk2 micra would flood the enigne if having been moved from cold only a short distance and then tried to be restarted a short while afterwards. The trick is to pull the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box nearest the drivers door this stops the pump dumping more fuel in and the flooding, once started after a bit of cranking pop the fuse back in and hey presto. Common problem, but the fix works every time. HTH Rich

Would have to be an 80's job to have points surely, 90's to have a distibuter cap and electronic ignition, Later models with full ECU. Anyway if it has any of these then yeah I'd check the dizzy cap, rotor, leads plugs.
