Ah my cunning plan has failed!

Purchased a petrol powered pressure washer as my garage is away from the house and cant use a power cable. However it only just dawned on me (when reading the manual) that I need a tap for the water!

Is there any sort of water containers I could use or is the tap pressure needed?

You dont need a tap, we have one we take with us dirt biking and we just fill a water butt at the garage and dump the hose in it and it sucks the water out.

ahh cool was starting to question the f**in point of a pressure washer that dosnt need a power lead but still needs a mains water point.

and just in time to buy my water tank i have for sale.

although youd still need a hose pipe to fill it up , so you wouldnt need the tank after all lol

plus the foam lance is on its way

Ah yes the foam lance arrived yesterday :)

Will any water container do? As this was the plan I was hoping for......

your going to need something with quite a lot of litres , my tank in the van and the one above are 175 , and at a push ill get 2/3 cars from them as long as they are not filthy ,

did you say you live in a flat dave , if so what floor you still could use a hose as long as its not 200 ft up

To be honest I used my electric karcher no probs from a bucket when my hose split in the middle and I needed to wash my car. You do have to keep filling it up but you'd be surprised how little water it uses really. I also used the water from my temporary pool at the end of the summer to wash my drive with and that took forever to use bucket by bucket. I'd estimate that a 25 litre bucket lasted about 5 minutes of constant use on my karcher. A petrol one might have more oomph and use more water per minute.

Oh and to make your trips fewer and easier get 2 25 litre buckets (its easier to carry two buckets than one balanced and all) Stand one of the buckets on the rim of the other and put a siphon hose between the two. The top one fills the bottom the one which you have the feed to your pressure washer in.
