lust2luv
Interesting interview with the current Cannonball organiser and the original unconnected inventor of the Cannonball... Toronto Star article It says Tim Porter owns a 700HP Supe, which he's gonna run at this year's event in Canada - anybody know anything about his car? Muffleman
Tim used to own\run Japvillage in Horsham. I have had some dealings with him, and I wouldn't do so again. Also, if he says 700bhp - knock a fair few bhp's off of that figure
Paul
Tim Porter is a bullshitting del boy !! He did have a yellow Supra some time back but dunno if this is the one he's on about? He's one of these guys that thinks he's the bollocks with everything, instead he just talks bollocks. Maybe I just misunderstood him? Whitelightning
On this page are our pics of the 2003 event we entered. http://www.wlnet.co.uk/Pages/Gallery_Events_03CBRE.htm It has a pic of his yellow supra, the clutch failed so we never found out what it would do - but it did finish. You will also note more pictures under my review section.
raymanuk
Yep he definately did own Jap-village but it went bust - he did not pay his bills. I saw the yellow supe not all that TBH. I went down there when looking to buy a supe. He had a red/pink RX7 which was tuned pretty well and that was supposed to be the original Cannonball car but never got to drive as it died or the engine did. Instead they took the Supe. It is now a Porsche racing garage that tune high performance cars - I think it is http://www.surreyperformancecentre.co.uk As for the Supe it was rated to be around 700bhp but never really saw anything of it as always something wrong with it. Not herd many nice words about him and the shop so never went there again.
Whitelightning
The pink RX7 could drive about 3 miles before blowing up ! It was a running joke, he loved the car. It started the ECBR 2003 then parked up Tim is the closest you will get to David Brent without being funny, he means well but isnt a diplomat.
