When i turn the ignition on should i be able to hear the fuel pump on? I have dissasembled my dash ready to take the whole lot out. I have now realised i need to turn the car around so i turned on the ignition but i cant hear the pump. I have plugged the dash harness back in on both sides but havent bothered plugging in the clocks etc. The engine cranks when i turn the key but it doesnt fire at all. Anyone able to help??

No, the fuel pump runs when you crank it. Well actually it primes at certain other times too, but basically it runs when you crank the engine. One of the plugs on the back of the clocks is a way of joining some of the wires together so you may well have to have it plugged in.

Unrelated, but because you have turned the ignition with the dash etc unplugged you may find that the airbag lights will stay on. Thats if you have a Supra with an airbag.

Saves you starting another thread asking why it stays lit. Do a search, there is a fix for it. ;)
