Right has anyone got a intellstart with manual gearbox if so how can you stop the engine starting in gear:taped: had a very close call today as the car started and drove away with me running behind :D

The intellstart was fitted when my car was a auto so no probs until now.

I have a separate hks turbo timer. sometimes on short journeys i normally turn the engine off before leaving and force of habit a park in gear. but if a press the clifford keyfob to start ,it starts the engine. just wondering if there is a way to stop it starting when in gear.

Have you got me on ignore or something? I just told you.

i do hear you honest :D it seems to me that you were explaning the use of the turbo timer ? hence leaving the engine running. so are you saying that if the settings are altered somehow it will stop it starting in gear.?

I explained the safety feature in the clifford alarm system. There is no switch to tell the alarm the car is in gear. I was not explaining the turbo timer to you.

When i was having mine fitted he asked if i wanted it in auto mode. I said no as i had already cracked my bumper on one of my garden posts. He then described what happens in manual mode.

Just as a note, it may not be **. It will be the combination that was set during installation. Mine is a different combo.

Ok read carefully.

Lets say for example the combination is in fact **

You drive up to your home

while the car is still turning over you press **

you take your key out of the ignition

the car will still be running

you get out of the car (this will guarantee you are in neutral)

you close your door

you press the alarm arm button

the car will cut out and the alarm will arm

when you want the car to remote start you press *

job done.

When you are sitting in your car with engine on you want to activate IntelliStart for later

1)with a 650 MK2 you press ** on key fob while keys are in ignition and engine on

2)Remove Keys from ignition (Engine stays running, safety feature so car isnt in gear)

3) get out of car

4) Alarm car

5) Engine turns off, Intellistart is armed

6) Press * to start car on key fob

if You forgot something and disarm car intellistart will also be disarmed just incase you put car in gear while you where inside, to arm go through sequence again as stated above
