Graham S, SupraAsh and I are discussing the finer points of vasectomies...

Ash reckons you can't erm...arrive with substance shall we say..

Graham and I reckon you can :)

Graham looked it up on the internet with google with the search term of 'What is involved after the chop' and 'can you still shoot after the chop'.

How is vasectomy done?

Vasectomy is an outpatient procedure, which is performed under local anesthesia (although you may receive a mild sedative to help you relax). Your scrotum will be shaved and washed with sterile soap. One or 2 small incisions (cuts) are made in the scrotum. Then, short segments of the sperm ducts (vas deferens)—about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of each duct—are cut and removed to reduce the possibility of their rejoining. You will feel a pulling sensation from the testicles and perhaps a dull ache for a brief moment. The sealed ends of the vasa will be returned to the scrotum. The incisions are so small that stitches may not be needed. If stitches are used, they will dissolve by themselves. You should bring an athletic supporter with you to wear after the procedure.

I was 'Jaffa'd' about 12 years ago, in and out of hospital within a couple of hours and all done under local anasthetic. The old spuds were a bit sore for a day or two but wasn't long before John Thomas was back in the action.

Everything works as before except for one thing, the worry (all gone :) no danger of an unnexpected accident).

I certainly have no regrets.

It is exactly this that makes me chuckle, not because you were sore, but because they sell it as 'You may experience some discomfort'...not exactly the truth by all accounts.

The worst bit was when the anaethetist said "It's only a small prick" ;)

Not really qualified to comment on the discussion, but surely the point of the operation is to prevent swimmers. Whether there is a river is beyond me. ;)

IIRC it just prevents the plumb juice from mixing with the rest of the cocktail..... so to speak ;)

The rest of the cocktail still 'arrives' :)

A guy at work had it done a couple of years ago, and he was walking like John Wayne for a good two weeks afterwards!
