Scott
I have ordered my coilovers so i am just waiting on them shipping from the US. I quite fancy giving it a go myself so i was trying to make a list of all the tooling i will require so that i am ready as soon as they arrive. I have: A good range of spanners, sockets etc Axle Stands Trolley Jack Scissor Jack Spring Compressors I cant find any ramps that will get near my car so i will just need to get a hold of a block of wood to drive onto so that i can get the scissor/trolley jack under but after that i should be good to go. Anyway, am i missing anything? Should i get a hold of a torque wrench or just do everything up FT? I'm pretty sure thats all the garage did when they fitted my springs the last time. Thanks
Guest Garfy
yep, thats all you should need. quick tip, you dont need to remove any suspension arms to do it

Guest Garfy
thats similar to how I do it, on the rear you will need to remove the caliper to get enough room to swig the shock past it, another tip is to jack up both sides, and undo both shocks, that way your not fighting the anti roll bar all the time, I also used a scissor jack and a block of wood to jack the suspension arms down. Scott
Have a look, HTH http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=52789 Thanks James, i spotted that already so i will be using that for the rears. I'm hoping the front is almost as straight forward. Do i just do everything up FT then?

I've spotted a few things in various searches, one showed pulling the pin from the wishbone to get it out the way. Hopefully i won't face many problems. I should be able to borrow one of my mates as a strong arm lol.

JustGav
Get a big mate who has some weight, esp for the rear ones .
Guest Garfy
really, its a one person job, just use a scissor jack and a block of wood.
bignum
I used a 2ft length of 2x2 wood to lever things down using your foot.
RobSheffield
I used a 2ft length of 2x2 wood to lever things down using your foot. No messing about undoing anything apart from the coilovers themselves.
