grahamc
Saw this thread and thought: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=150925 Is the above possible? Can you have too many cars? Whats the magic number? I want a caterham replica, for track fun and sunny weather and a R34 GTR for the rest of the time. The missus like the mini and wants a convertible, something like a SLK or S2000. And since we have 2 dogs need something that we can use for them.... 5 cars seems a little excessive
Thorin
Similar here too, but I think 4 is ideal. Westfield for teh track days and fun in the summer, Supra for a bit more comfort, Estate car for carting the dog around in to replace Angela's Corolla, and something reliable to get me to work every day. We have 5 (and a ZX12R to boot) and we don't use them most of the time. My supra hasn't even been used this year - not once:rolleyes: It is great to say that you have them but the cost of ownership soon mounts up. I think we pay circa 3k for insurance and car tax and that is before any fuel/servicing costs etc. Our collection may be reducing soon and the Supra may be on the hit list
cheekymonkey
I have the two Supras and the Audi at the moment (plus the Fazer of course) and parking is becoming a right nightmare for any guests
Rob
I'd say, with a car like the Supra, 3 is the right number, as you always have two for work, and one to use for when either of those is in the garage. We found life much easier back then, as we could drop a car off on Saturday, and pick it up a week later which meant no stress for us, and the garage could do it at their convenience, rather than rush it to suit us. At one point just the wife and I had 5 cars, the Sup, the Audi, a CC Renault Megane Scenic, and 2 Land Rover S3s.
Chris Wilson
Why do 2 dogs need a dedicated car?
Rob
Why do 2 dogs need a dedicated car? Indeed. I often hear people say, and read letters in Honest John, where people say "We have a Audi A4/BMW 3/Mondeo etc, and we have a child on the way, so we now need a 7-seater"and I think wtf??? Do you really need an extra 3 seats over a 4/5 seat normal car, just for 1 baby?
tbourner
Depending on what dogs they are I wouldn't want to travel a long way with them in the back of a Mini or on the back seats of an R34, let alone an S2000 or Caterham!!! So I'd say it's right to have a 5th car for the dogs.

Chris Wilson
Have done thousands of miles with dogs in my Supra and the Skyline, but there again I am not known for having pristine vehicles
tooquicktostop
I have two Supras and a Camaro, the cars are a joy to own, the running (insurance, tax and servicing) of three such cars makes it very expensive, but having a 'backup' means that when one of them is away having work I am not without a car
RedM
I've got a car for shopping. A car for driving to work. A car for days out. A car for fun and a car just for looking at. Shame I only own one Pug 306!
Thorin
Have done thousands of miles with dogs in my Supra and the Skyline, but there again I am not known for having pristine vehicles I don't think Nikita would by happy if I tried shoehorning her into the Supra. If we had a Yorkshire terrier it would be ok.
Chris Wilson
What is Nikita, a horse or something? I always found the liked to sit on the front seat with their front paws on the front floor. If there was a front passenger they had to make do with a rear bucket each and squabble for who had the bit in between.

Why do 2 dogs need a dedicated car? could probably get away with them in the skyline, but not an ideal car for them. But it is an option I am considering to get rid of one of the cars. Depending on what dogs they are I wouldn't want to travel a long way with them in the back of a Mini or on the back seats of an R34, let alone an S2000 or Caterham!!! So I'd say it's right to have a 5th car for the dogs. 2x german sheppards - pretty sure I could get one in the caterham and the other in the s2000 I'm taking the 5th You can never hve too many, right? I have two Supras and a Camaro, the cars are a joy to own, the running (insurance, tax and servicing) of three such cars makes it very expensive, but having a 'backup' means that when one of them is away having work I am not without a car My main concern.... I've got a car for shopping. A car for driving to work. A car for days out. A car for fun and a car just for looking at. Shame I only own one Pug 306! such a well rounded car, all it needs is "actual" performance

grahamc
Bloody `ell, that should be up front, in shafts, pulling its weight, not in the car with you! Or just remove the passenger seat, bolt it into a harness and leave it there... Might take the floor with it if it tries to stan up though.... Do you have a aerotop? by any chance?
