Branners
bit of a tirade here, but some already know my thoughts on it. Not directed at anybody at all, its just a general thing, but I believe web sites like facebook and beebo have made this forum a worse place to be. People seem to think that the world and their dog are interested in what they are having for lunch, where they went last night and just what mood they are in at that exact moment. That approach comes across in to the forum where threads are started in the same way they would post in their Facebook profile. Only on here its not only their friends that have to read it, its the whole forum. Its a case of the emperors new clothes for me. Maybe Im just a grumpy old git now and its just me, but I thought the facebook generation might appreciate knowing what mood Im in JB
RedM
And I thought I was the only person left in the world who hadn't signed up! You are not alone. I have no desire to sign up either. I signed up but I rarely use it. It seems to be rarely hard to delete your account. I'm not sure you actually can. However, if anyone can source me a hack that'll let me see the 'holiday snaps' of one of the lasses at work I might use it more regularly. Charlotte
Well............. LOL I only had "Real Friends" on mine till last night but what difference does it make? It's always nice to meet new people one way or another is it not? It was a joke, hence the smilie. I don't really have time for any internets these days, too busy with stuff in my 'real' life. Ok? michael
You can Martin, just click into Account and then Deactivate it. Pretty easy mate. A big difference between deactivating and deleting. Martin, if you do want to delete yourself you need someone at Facebook to do it for you but before they will you have to delete absolutely every personal item from your profile. Sent items, messages left by others, contacts and so on (I don't know the specifics because I've never been on Facebook). [email protected] with a suitable subject line should get the ball rolling or if you log in this page might give you the info you need, I can't tell, you need an account to view it so apologies if it's just a picture of some eggs: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16929680703 There are a number of blogs, general IT sites etc that have some quite amusing tales about this but ultimately they make it very difficult for you to remove yourself because at the end of the day users equals $'s for them. Tom S
if you deactivate your account, you do not need to delete everything on it and no one can search you. Just means you can re start it at any time with the information you had on. Michaels details will probably be more IT related as that is his role. I deactivated my account once and no one can see you, you drop off of friends lists etc. So if this is what you want to do, it will sort your problem. Just honest advice mate
michael
Just honest advice mate But ultimately wrong advice for someone wanting to delete an account.
Tom S
Point was taken Michael, no need to start an arguement. If I have offended you I apologize. Sometimes you just try to hard to wind people up.
