Ruff_Rider
I fitted my cam covers with new gaskets today and one of them cracked. I was tightening the front bolt on the inside, right near the cam gear (see attatched picture). I fastened the bolts gradually and evenly so i guess i must have over-tightened them. Is there a torque value for the cam cover bolts? Toyota told me they don't get many supras so they don't have access to that sort of info. which i find quite lame. colsoop
Ywep they have been overtightened. They only need 8.3 nm (n/A) and 5.4 nm (TT) A new cam cover is around £80 from Toyota before discount, alternatively try and get a second hand one if you can.
