Fed up with being taxed to death, fuel prices etc?

Govt has lost a lot of revenue by banning smoking in public places; it therefore has to recover those losses from another place - who else are mugs that are happy to bend over and get shafted - you guessed it - us motorists.

Good point I'd forgotten the smoking angle

But... if they drive us motorists off the road with extortionate fuel prices where will they get the tax then? Oh yea, 70% income tax (that was leaked through the press)

We need to put pressure on the government for improved public transport.

It's shockingly bad in Telford, mainly because the place was designed for everybody to have a car!! (DOH!)

To get to work requires two or three bus changes and about 90 mins for a 15 min car journey.

If that ever happens i think i will either quit my job and go on the dole or become a drug dealer and pay no taxes:D

The day they put tax up to 70% is the day i leave this country for oz or new zealand

Right, I know that I am sick to death of being shafted by this bunch of tw4ts called New Labour and I'm sure I am not the only one.

As Supra owners we are affected by the rising cost of petrol and also some of us by the new VED rates (silversoop!!!). It is all very well ranting on about it on forums like this, but what we really need to do is unite and make a stand so our voices (and exhausts!) are heard loud and clear by those muppets in Westminster. I think that we should organise a massive convoy (maybe get other car clubs to join us?) and drive to London to cause as much disruption as possible (but legally - I suppose :( ). we should all drive very slow and cause gridlock - just like some lorry drivers have been doing......

what do you all reckon?

Backing you up on this mate!

My self and a few others have been on about this for ages but nothing has every came of it due to alot of people back down and just get on with it! ( me i rather do some think about it ) but instead of just 100 cars doing it the police will just move us on with know problem but we need every to come together and stick together and make our self be heard ( exhusts / sound systems / block aiding roads etc) what ever it takes reli but im thinking about a couple of hunderd cars!

As i and my mate run Just-kroozin.co.uk if this went to a head we will join you and i dare say ( as J-K has a few contacts with other cruise sites ) we could get them to join us which i dare say alot of them will and maybe national...

let me know as we could start planning it!

But i understad where your coming from though mate!

Lets just see how many people stick together...

p.s we could even join the truck drivers thats are doing the same thing ??

I've heard that in a bid to help motorists, Petrol Stations will now show porn when you fill up so you can see someone else getting shafted as well as yourself.

:)

LOL - That's given me a new FaceBook status... Nice one :)

I've been hiding here ;) - lol - Sure we need a catch-up, I'm rarely on MSN, but it's [email protected] when I am... Oh, you have now added me... lol

Back to topic - I'm fully supportive of any protests, if the revenue was going to anything worthy, then it'd be worth paying it, but when we're paying through the nose for a service that is downright unacceptable, then something should be done about it...

Yea, I know how bad the buses are in Telford and that was 8 years ago! Your lucky if they even turn up.

I think we should join forces with the truckers and creat a massive day long protest. I think we need to organise this properly though and I may need some help on that front!! My Boss is a member of the Volvo Performance Owners Club UK and they are pretty much up for a riot too, er I mean protest ;)

I've got plenty of holiday time that I'm not using :) - Or I could say I can't use my fuel (When there is a blockade) on 100 mile round trips a day, so I'll have to WFH (Which they've already agreed), and I'll just run my laptop off a 3G card :) I've got a few spare batteries for it, and no doubt someone will have a generator when I need to charge them :)

I wouldn't bother with a FB Group, there's too many bullshit groups on there nowadays that no-one really cares about what they're subscribing to...

I was thinking about a website to start it, but whilst I have the space, and bandwith (And I can sort a name out), I wouldn't have the first idea on how to organise it...

Well, I say that, but what I'm thinking is, promotion isn't an issue, I could certainly get the message moving, but it's doing it without the 'authorities' knowing... As obviously I wouldn't want to be part of anything illegal, cough, sorry, too much smoking... :p

hmm interesting! it has to be legal or it defeats the whole object of the exercise!!! we are law-abiding hard working people who are being shafted by the people who are meant to be working for US!

Legal for the Truckers meant, they had to occupy 1 lane, and not dip below 40mph... Considering the roads they were on I'm guessing 40mph's the average speed!... Hardly a blockade...
