T2 MSW
Is the difference in size of letters on number plates for Jap sec cars a fallacy? Or do all number plates have to conform to the post 2001 standard sizes now? Just had fun with the police over my number plate, they were not arsed that the spacing was wrong just the size of the letters!
keener
I have a small front plate (with small letters/numbers obviously) on my import tt and was told that was ok by Jurgen who did all the importing. I'm sure he'll know the proper rules and regs as he deals with imports all the time. There's always loads of police around here as the Thames Valley HQ and personnel HQ are in my town and the area traffic HQ is about 10 miles up the road but I've never been stopped. (Touching wood as I type!)
Jim_1979
I'm sure if there's not enough room on an import car for a normal sized plate then you can get away with it. I had police pull me a few years ago and actually measured the letters!
Jake
I'm sure if there's not enough room on an import car for a normal sized plate then you can get away with it.That's correct. There is enough room for a standard plate on a Supra though.
merckx
I liked my small plate on the front but got pulled over for a having a couple of extra spaces on the full size rear plate, I changed them both to full size standard plates which you soon get used to. It's nice being legal.

Jim_1979
Mate, where do you have the number plate mounted on the bumper? Got any pics? I have a sticker on the top of the bumper, but I don't like it very much!
