Wez
Hey All, Following on from this thread I thought this deserved a thread of its own. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=150154 This is a 335i with an Emanage style signal fudger upping the boost to 1.1bar with fueling to suit. Check out that torque curve, I wonder how this would compare to an M3
colsoop
Wow ! I hope that guy who is looking in to a diesel for his soop can get a curve like that
Jake
Blimey. Some torque. Is that RWHP too? In answer to your question the poxy m3 wouldn't see it for dust.
Jake
Wow ! I hope that guy who is looking in to a diesel for his soop can get a curve like that The 335i isn't a diesel though Col. (maybe you knew that and I misunderstood)
colsoop
The 335i isn't a diesel though Col. (maybe you knew that and I misunderstood) I didn't know that, i just assumed because of that curve it was a TD. That is even more impressive then
ozz
Is the 335 a petrol turbo then as standard? I never knew that, always wanted a turbo'd BMW, must be one of their first mainstream petrol turbo's then? I bet these are mega bucks... Edit> looks like it is indeed a petrol: linky Great price as well as it cheaper than some CSLs I've seen and its gotta outperform them. Way to much for me though
Gazboy
Nice one Wez I think even the new E92 M3 could live with this 335i. I'd love a torque curve like that, but i wonder what the traction is like.
Chingy
awesome torque on that
Wez
Check out the following 07 M3 specs, my money is on the 335i Engine Size 3999 cc Cylinders 8 0-60 mph 4.6 s Power Output 414 bhp Valves 32 Torque 400 Nm 295 lb-ft Top Speed 155 mph
SteveR
I wondered how long it would be before someone tweeked a 335i; they had "tuning potential" written all over them. I guess this is only the beginning, too?
tDR
That's it, I'm getting one as my next everyday car New they'd be great from a tuning perspective and I already know what the chassis is like through my current daily driver '07 320 coupe. 3 litre straight six with twin sequential turbos IIRC? BMW just caught up with Toyota
Gazboy
They're parallel like conventional twins. The diesels are seuential with different sized turbos though.
Bobbeh
Only took em 17 years Oh what advances they've made Nice figures tho I work with a guy who bought a new 5 series diesel and started telling me about all the mapping thats going on, sounds pretty decent that you can bang a out a load more power from those cars without compromising the fuel economy a great deal. Would make a great daily driver.
