Exhaust baffle reducing boost.

for those with an aftermarket exhaust + decats who then then fit a baffle to reduce noise for track days i assume it reduces the boost too ?

My question is this could you use the baffle as a substitute for a restrictor ring thus reducing the noise but keeping the boost in check ?

Not exactly a Supra but I fitted the baffle to my Apexi exhaust on my S14a and it created a shed load of back pressure, it sapped the noise but also sapped the power it did not boost well. :(

Any idea what diameter the baffle is ?

I think it would work and asked the same question a while ago.:)

oops i completely forgot to search :D

As you said in your thread, better to limit the power but be able to do a track day in anger :)

Mine doesn't seem to limit boost, but it does reduce power

How does that work  :D

It was the same for me, it sapped the car totally. Could still boost the car to it's limit but it took more effort to do so.

Also on from Michaels post EGT's and was also warned about blowing gaskets/joins in the exhaust too.
