Animal
My air con has not worked for the last few months and I've just found how to run the diagnostic test. Anyway, the flashing led's alternated between Fresh Air & Defrost, which according to the list is the Pressure Switch Circuit and the Solar Sensor Circuit. What does this actually mean? I presume the pressure switch means I need to get it re-gassed, but what's the other one? Cheers
Nic
The Solar Sensor is the red dome thing on top of the dash, it is basically a light sensor. The climate control uses the reading from this and other sensors to automatically adjust the temp.
tango
Is there anyway you can make the aircon stay on rather then switch on and off itself? cheers
Animal
Yeah, I know what the solar sensor is, but does the error code mean that it's knackered? If so, what's involved in repairing it. I want to get the car booked in somewhere to get re-gassed, etc but would like to know what needs looking at besides a re-gas.

No, it just means it was bright when you did the test. Or dark, can't remember which is which now.
Animal
Ah right. It were sunny when I tested it this morning. Next question would be - I've found a mobile specialist that will do the following: - De-gas the present refrigerant - Check all component functions and check pipes for corrosion - Deep vacuum and remove moisture content - Replace pollen filter - Full anti-bacterial & Ozone treatment - Re-gas the system with the correct amount of refrigerant - Digitally leak test - Test the system is fully functional but they are charging £110 + vat is this extortionate or is it likely to be a better service than the £45.00 offer at Kwik-Fit? I'd rather pay more to get it thoroughly checked as it hasn't been looked at for at least 3 years (I know, I know)
razza
These things should be done by Kwik Fit etc. for the £45 I believe - De-gas the present refrigerant - Deep vacuum and remove moisture content (not sure) - Re-gas the system with the correct amount of refrigerant - Digitally leak test - Test the system is fully functional so seems a bit steep to me

Animal
Price from here would be around £190-£200 posted. SOLD! I've just had a quote from Mr. T of £290, so not as bad as I thought, but your price sounds better. PM is on the way mate. In the meantime, I'll just have to buy a cool-bag and some freezer blocks to stick in the footwell, lol.
