sjenne
Does anyone know where I can buy a single DIN stereo blanking plate or shelf to fit my MKIV. I only have a single DIN stereo and am sick of having a hole in the dashboard. Thanks Si MKIV TT 6spd (jap)
Digsy
Halfrauds sell a shelf that will bolt straight into the lower part of the stereo bracket.
JohnK
Toyota do the real thing too, nice little pocket, cant get the part number right now but there have been many posts on this subject so do a search, try dash pocket or din pocket. SimonB
The Halfords one is part no FP-006-H and is labelled Volvo V/S 40/70 Facia/Pocket (just happen to have the box lying by the computer !). If you can get over the embarrasment of buying a Volvo part they're about 15 quid I think. It's got a list on the instructions with some very bizarre sounding cars on. Mazda Millenja anyone ? What about the Toyota Cressida ?
sjenne
I think I can grit my teeth and order the volvo part from Halfrauds. Might go tonight if I get chance. Definatly fits though? Thanks to everyone who responded. Simon.
SimonB
Yeah, it comes with three or four surrounds and mounting thingies. It's actually officially a CD storage thing, stores 3 CDs but when I put some in there they kept flying out when I accelerated hard
Steve W
GREAT ! ! CD storage AND cheap accelerometer, all in 1 ! ! { mmmm.... doesn't do Lateral "G" though..... have to put a couple of ball bearings loose in the back of it }
Matt Harwood
As a matter of interest, you can also get EXACTLY the same kit with a shortened part number FP-006 labelled as a universal din tray. Saves having to order a Volvo part;) - Also helpful if you get a brain donor assistant at Halfrauds:D

sjenne
Thanks to everyone who replied - I went to Halfrauds - did actually get one of the aforementioned 'brain donors' who couldn't find it, I eventually found the Volvo part myself, and, when no-one was looking, took it to the counter and paid for it. I then ran out of the shop before anyone saw me. Fitted fine. Cheers Simon.
Adam_SG
Great link people, i went into Halfrauds yesterday to get a blanking plate/pocket, they said only available from Toyota, but went back today and got the Volvo one and yup perfect fit and only 15 sheets! My local car audio place quoted me £30!!! ( And whats wrong with Volvos?) hahaha -> that should happen to all Volvo drivers!

Adam_SG
Is he your typical Volvo road hog? No offence intended, I'm sure your dad is very nice when not behind the wheel of the "Volvo":)

sjenne
Both my accidents (well, the ones involving other cars anyway) have been with Volvo's. I hit a ancient 340 type thingy ages ago and drove my old MR2 into an S40 about a year and a half ago. When I see one now I turn the car around and just go! They seem have it in for me....! Grrr.
