Hi all,

Just in the process of trying to save some pennies towards potentially doing a manual conversion, and was wondering if anyone had experience in doing so and the sort of costs involved?

erm loads of people have done it mate :)

do a search and you find a list of parts needed. Jezz does them (he's our resident scrappy).

think parts cost £2k, plus £1k to fit as a general rule.

theres also a guide on here somewhere.... (try faq section)

thanks all for the quick assistance, will continue with the saving (although I was expecting it to be alot more which is nice), and hopefully complete towards the end of '08!

Thanks again,

Matt

i think the title to this thread would have been better if it was "has anyone ever done a manual to auto conversion :-)

out of interest has anyone?

Silly person - that's like asking if anyone has done a TT -> NA conversion!

The manual box is known to be able to handle more power than the auto, plus auto supras are generally much cheaper than the manual - so you'd sell up and buy a different car :)

someone who had spent 20k on mods, then lost a leg in a motorcycle accident may well be looking at converting to auto :-)
