Hi Chaps

my friend has a 200sx S13.. however he has a S14 turbo put on it as an "upgrade" - im guessing this isnt gonna make to much of difference to the manifold or will it and are ther any other things he needs to consider when running this at higher bar?

also he informs me he has a blitz sus Air intake on it .. is this the same as teh supra and gonna be just sucking up hot air.. whats the take on havin a blitz sus on 200sx anyway?

cheers

on the air side of things does anyone got any ideas on that.. btw this really ties in with the supra idea. actually and many many arguments over taht aswell... does fitting like and aftermarket apexi induction kit work with heat sheilding.. cos although im still swayed to leasvin the standard airbox the pipe in plastic looks crap lol

The t28 s14 turbo will fit onto the s13 manifold. Also water pipes will fit straight on and if i remember the onlt pipe which neds replacing is the oil return which u can get from apex.

Power wise there is a big improvement as the t28 is a slightly bigger and much more reliable turbo and will run 1 bar easily. If he puts on a front mount intercooler as well then the will really liven it up.

as he wants to drift it..as all 200sx owners want to-

I own one and I don't ;), I do not see the point in drifting :search:.

You will smoke him like he is going backwards.

Now before I would agree with you on this, however now owning a 300bhp 200sx I am not too sure your statement is correct, I think it would be bloody close untill you reach silly speeds then the supra will 100% win.

If Firestorm get's his car to full BPU and his mate spends the money to get to 300bhp which to be honest not many S13 owners do, it would be close but still no cigar.

The S13 is a lot lighter so it has its advantages obviously, but 300bhp whilst everyone says is easy to achieve. It really isn't that cheap and not many people get there cars mapped accordingly resulting in about 230 - 240bhp examples all over the shop.

A 400bhp Auto Supra wouldn't be amazingly fast would still smoke your typical bodged claimed 300bhp S13.

i am goin got be BPU'ing this year.. just sorting out the essential stuff first making sure im all good. 400bhp supra to me will be fast :D esp against this 200sx.. if it is 300bhp.. surely the turbo in the sx doesnt come on til 4krpm anyway which is bout the time my 2nd turbo is kicking in.. the excelleration is far more supreme.. il be pulling away alot faster than his .. surely?

ps. its good to see james that u dont wanna drift in urs hehe! i actually quite like this car.. i think its pretty cool.

im assuming were talking once hes got it set up to be boosting correctly. (i dont think he does - thats what we are gonna be trying to do.) i tink the easiest will be for him to get a boost controller rite? even at normal boost id smoke him lol

Slightly different, I am driving an S14a. 1st gear is rubbish, second gear is better but it's 3rd gear that is the strongest and it shoots off like a rocket in that gear. Do not know if the gearing is the same as the S13.

You need to rotate the housing on the T28 to fit it to the S13 manifold. The coolant pipes are a bit of a pain to get on and off when taking the T25 off and the oil feed should be changed to a braided item when doing the job to stop future oil starvation problems. Oil drain should be fine - depending on your alignment of the turbo from rotating it, you may need to change part of the ruturn using some breather hose that slips onto metal fittings either end. You also need an air intake hose adapter for the inlet mouth - S14's are bolt on where S13's are slip on.

RE: induction kits, the stock s13 airbox is very restrictive and they do breathe better with an induction kit on. As usual you need to do something about getting it shielded from the hot engine bay air and supply a cold air feed to it - I used a length of tumble tryer type bendy vent hose and routed it from the vent under the front bumper sidelight / indicator unit up to the cone of the filter.

Cheers,

Brian.
