TLicense
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/gloucestershire/7395452.stm For those too lazy, a guy parked an old fiesta up, on his driveway and declared it SORN. One wheel was 1.5 inches on the pavement, so the NCP came and clamped it. In response the man said, you're not having my car (he was going to scrap it anyway) so cut it in half. I can't decide which party were taking the pizzle the most?
Ian C
I like his style. There you go you c*nts, tow that away. Why on earth would you even clamp a car in someone's driveway? I mean they had to trespass to do it! It's jobsworth, petty, and spiteful so I hope they have to pick it up to get it crushed for being "untaxed on the road" ffs. -Ian

Homer
I suppose that 'technically' he was in the wrong for having part of the car on a public road, but for gawd sakes I'd expect a little discretion shown! Fair play to the guy for making a stand against them

Like knocking on the door and having a quick word... Would mean that the Cause of an 'Offense' is removed, the recipient is left with a much better opinion of the Authorities, there's no further expense to the taxpayer in having to clamp/tow/take further court action etc etc. but, we forget that by doing that no target is met, no monthly bonus is achieved, a jumped up little tit doesn't get his authority fix etc etc. Far easier to meet targets rather than apply the rules with common-sense, fairness and a bit of give and take. Kopite
Love that one I'm fighting 2 parking tickets at the min for where i park at work, i have a parking permit (£660 a year :s ) and have had 2 tickets because they "can't read it clearly" when it's in the window. Sod that, get an eye test.
Pot
Read about that yesterday in our local rag and had a giggle over it, they had it on BBC News 24 today as well, although the picture the council had showed it was about a foot on the path but still a stupid decision to book him for it IMO. RiceRocket
I saw the 'incriminating' photo on the BBC News earlier and it was just a rear wheel outside the parking space although there was sufficient room for it not to be, but like it was mentioned above surely just a warning would suffice and then if ignored, clamp on.
