I for one am gobsmacked at that torque curve. Utter disbelief. That deserves a thread of its own Yes it does!!WTF! How do you get that torque curve so early in the rev range, I used to get 394ft/lb at 2500rpm in my j-spec, I'll see if I can dig out the map, I'm not gonna get that with a single am I:( It did dip a bit mid range though, so wasnt perfect by any means, but always wondered how you get that much torque so early! Edit: their using ridiculously small turbos, you would get something similar in parallel tt setup with cutom manifold and small turbos, it wouldnt be the same with big twins, that Beemer's map is mighty impressive though! Wez
I believe it uses a small and large turbo in sequential.

Gazboy
I believe it uses a small and large turbo in sequential. The diesel does, the petrol uses two small parallel twins. Mine makes 300lbs @ 2500rpm. Regarding the torque dropping off, if my graph was over laid, my torque curve would never catch the 335i's, my peak from memory is 360lbs @ 4k. bolarbag
If you had a different manifold and more modern tubbies I bet it would be the same, dont forget the oem exhaust settup is a criss crossy thing, the beemer manifold and exhaust is nice and straight Bet it would be pretty heavy on fueling though eh?
