Parking standards at work

Just a quick survey - how are the parking standards at your place of work?

Where I am they are absolutely awful, people taking up 2 spaces, parking too close to other cars, parking at an angle, sticking out too far, knocking other cars and not admitting it and so on... it's a nightmare!

I've found a couple of spaces in the car park that are at the end of the rows and really wide, I'll jam the Supra up to the curb so the door can open all the way without going near the next space and I'll still get some fool parking right next to me ignoring the bay markings.

It's been raised with the facilities people loads of time and emails have been sent to everyone but still it goes on and the dents and scratches keep appearing - what can you do?

Attached pic is a quick sketch of an average section of car park:

Stress!

It's ok here actually, it's very clear in the rules that you have to park within the bays, not across 2 etc. Security patrol it and slap rude signs on and repeated offenders they do something horrible too...not sure what don't think it's ever happened lol.

Plus the bays are pretty generous in size. 5mph limit though and it's only skid tested to 5mph so it's well slidey on the up/down ramps.

Awful where I work as well - always bangs and scrapes and people always try to worm their way out of it and claim it wasn't them.

I actually saw a guy hit my car once and the paint was transferred car-to-car and he still tried to deny it :fight:

One of the guys in my dept parks in the same space each day and a 'lady' parks across from him every day - last week as usual they assumed their respective positions and went to work....

At lunchtime he came out to find silver paint embedded in scratches all over the front of his car - it's an older Escort so not a fancy thing but it's his pride and joy and was mint - her silver car wasn't there.

In the afternoon there is a Dixons bodyshop car parked in her usual space and she's back to work as if nothing has happened - he called the bodyshop who confirmed the car was in for bumper scratches on the rear corner but they wouldn't say what colour marks were on it... to this day she's not owned up despite it being really obvious :(

A lot of the employees have company cars so that's obviously going to add to the issue as they don't care about dings - bah!

I only need to catch one of the buggers and then the war will begin.

your lucky you've got enough space, our place is quite new so thay asked for about 200 spaces, and the council say, no you can have only 150, make the other 50 walk, catch the bus, etc..

except no one does :banghead: :banghead: bloody council

No that's another problem but I wasn't going to go there :) 1 year old building next to a motorway and a dual carriageway, not enough spaces for the staff but no valid alternatives for most people either... lots of grass that we weren't allowed to build on though :)

Ditto. At the moment the 650 spaces are enough but when the new building opens there will be about 800 people and still 650 spaces- official bodies say 650 max spaces. Nightmare!

Mine gets parked at the train station car park quite regularly :(

Surrounded by pikey theiving b******ds. When I do drive into work we've got an underground car park so at least it's safe :) and due to the fact there's pillars every few yards it quickly teaches you to be careful....never heard of anyone's pride and joy being dented!

I used to have a great company space in central Leeds - it was one of those where you drive the car into a gap, leave the handbrake off and the car unlocked before leaving it while a dodgy chap dragged it onto a lift with a bit metal thing and up onto a 'shelf' where nobody could get near it - not sure what those type of car parks are called but I had to stop using it when the MR2 wheels were too wide, the Supra would have no chance :(

I park in the "Me" spot everyday in our multistory at work, never had any problems but not long after I first started I had just got my Prelude resprayed (full), came out after the first day having at work to find 2 dents on the side :banghead:

My fav is watching the big 4x4 folk getting out the front whilst junior throws open the rear door and bounces it off some poor sods car!!!!!
