headlights

I tryed to give my headlamps a bit of a clean up yesterday, got the lamp out and removed all the clips but cant seem to get the plastic cover away from the headlight backing. Is there any threads on here or anyone who has done this that can give me some gidence on how to do this.

just reading a link to put the lights in the oven? wouldnt this melt the plastic backing?

wrap it in a towel if it fits, my oven was too small so I used a heat gun. I've also heard a suggestion to use a hair dryer

dont know im a bit unsure about this? we have a big enough oven but wrapping in a towel, wouldnt the towel catch alight?

I was doing this yesterday and used a hairdryer as my light did not fit in the oven,took a bit of time but it worked

i use a heat gun, done a few set tlike that now.

if you follow the instructions then it wont melt. If you dont follow the instructions then theres a good chance they wont make it.

 

Its a very simple process if you follow the step by step guides. I did mine many moons ago and I hate doing work on my car.

I didn't bother with a towel, i just stuck them in the oven at 80 degrees for 10 mins and hey presto, job done.
