Show me your stereo (please)

I'm looking for a new MP3 headunit for my daily driver but can't seem to find anything suitable in the current ranges on offer in the shops - I'm thinking of looking at used ones now but wanted a few ideas first.

What I'm looking for:

1. All green illumination.

2. Plays WMA / MP3 CDs

3. Silver plastics rather than black

4. Single DIN

If you have something in your Supra (or other car) that sounds like it might be suitable please could you post the make and model or a picture please.

Pretty hard to find exactly what you are after. Found a black one with green buttons etc...

And a silver one with green buttons but white display

This is mine You can switch the display colour from green to red but its not mentioned in the write up. Its a cheapy but its ideal as you can plug memory sticks in with all your songs on. And its got an aux plug for mp3s/cds. had mine a year with not a spot of bother

Memory stick support adds another tick I didn't want to mention because I thought I was pushing my luck :)

More silver would be good but that's certainly one to consider, cheers.

I've got a Panasonic one that ticks all your boxes, will check the model number when i see the supra next

Thanks sir.

I had the earlier version of one of these in black before I replaced it a couple of months back and it was spot-on. You can set the screen colour to any you want, and it says you can use SD cards with this version, which is nice.

Fits the spec but I'm not really feeling the look of it for some reason - one for the list though, cheers :)

are you after as cheap as possible?

No, just a decent unit, ideally under £150 and as it's in my daily driver I'm not scared to go for a budget model but I will consider more expensive options too.

Just saw you asked for ALL green, the red lights around the volume can't be changed through the menus :(

It's a Panasonic CQ-C8301N, about £130 new 2 years ago

I remember those when they came out, spot on, one for the shortlist, cheers :)

Blackie - Would you be able to take a photo of yours in the green mode? Odd how Sony don't mention this anywhere.

you can switch mine to green, but green looks gay.

Really? I have the same model but of Hong Kong origin, I wasn't aware it could change colour, maybe only the UK one can?

Gay looks would fit in nicely with the car it's going in :)

as for the green illumination you can not only change colour but can change the shade of colour for an exact match

That does seem to fit my needs, what sort of price do you have in mind for it?

(I think the forum upgrade has messed up prices on old ads)

not really sure how much 2nd stereos are worth seeing as you can get them relatively cheap brand new now. will have to check the condition of it and get back to you but probably guess at about £35 delivered?

how come you want green? Mine is white, but its pimping as like, Pioneer DEH P88RS Headunit there the muts nuts, good if your serious about sound quality.

It's really only a mechanism to play music in a 2nd car, not a mission to create an amazing install. Green is my preference because I like all the colours to match in a car and I can't be bothered to change everything to match the stereo like I did in the Supra.

Give me a shout when you get chance to make sure it's all OK but I'm certainly interested :)

Sorry michael, I stand corrected and bow down to your infinite wisdom.

I was thinking of my Glo dials :(

DOH.

I had to find the manual to work out how to turn off the demo mode for the 193783rd time this week, there is no infinite wisdom when it comes to these things as far as I'm concerned :)
