tomgeer
Has anyone driven one? I had ago in my mates 07 reg last night, it's been re-mapped to about 260bhp, the torque is unreal It feels really quick and boosts to 1.1 bar, anyone no what the 0-60 for this motor would be?, its top speed is limited Good fun anyway, I'm pleased he finally traded his wrx in
Scott
0-60 is around 6.5 seconds. Mostly traction issues, nothing to do with power. Not had a drive with one but they are really good cars. Wouldn't go over 300bhp though, 260 is about right for FWD to remain driveable and "safe".
Swampy442
Doesnt it torque steer really badly?
Scott
Doesnt it torque steer really badly? I think its the RS that has the bad torque steer. Something to do with the diff or something or other.
jaymdee
Doesnt it torque steer really badly? I was wondering that. Drove a Saab 93 Aero HOT (210 bhp I think) and I had to hang onto the wheel as it torque steered like mad up the road
tomgeer
It does torque steer a little but it is easy to drive quickly without feeling out of control if you know what I mean, I've never liked focus's but I have to agree they are a great car, nice interior and plenty of power, I've changed my mind now having driven one. michael
I think its the RS that has the bad torque steer. Something to do with the diff or something or other. But oddly not all of them suffer the problem to the same degree, you just have to drive a few and pick the best by all accounts.

Wasn't that a 'feature' that Ford put in the RS so it was quick on a track, but not so good on the road?

Same goes with the power. I always found that very strange. If the engine power is different and the handling is different with the same components surely that has to come down to bad quality control?
